Maple Apple Skillet Cake
Ingredients
2 apples, peeled and thinly sliced
1/3 cup Plew Farm maple syrup, divided
1/2 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup milk
Instructions
Preheat oven to 350°F. Butter a 9–10" cast iron skillet.
Drizzle 2 tbsp maple syrup over the bottom of the skillet, then arrange apple slices in a layer on top.
Cream butter and brown sugar until fluffy. Beat in eggs, vanilla, and remaining maple syrup.
Whisk together flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt. Add to the butter mixture alternately with the milk, mixing just until combined.
Pour batter over the apples in the skillet, spreading evenly.
Bake 35–40 minutes, until a toothpick comes out clean.
Cool 10 minutes, then invert onto a plate so the apples are on top. Serve warm.
